Nicole Poteat is a Senior Vice President and Private Client Advisor with Bank of America Private Bank in New York, New York. Nicole leads a team of in-house specialists in designing and implementing tailored wealth strategies for institutions and high-net-worth individuals, their companies, and their families across the US.  As the lead relationship manager, she connects clients to the capabilities that reflect their unique interests and needs, fostering a client experience that is intimately personalized and responsive.

Nicole advises a diverse clientele including founders, corporate executives, venture capitalists, and families with multi-generational wealth. Her areas of focus include wealth structuring and pre-liquidity-event planning for entrepreneurs, financial education and stewardship for women decision-makers and next-generation family members, and wealth strategy to provide simplification and efficiency for clients with complex personal or professional circumstances. Nicole’s teams provide solutions ranging from detailed planning strategies, to tax-advantaged investment approaches that work to manage accumulated equity concentrations, to curated credit solutions allowing clients to access liquidity where the team collaboratively identifies arbitrage opportunities via financing strategies.

Prior to joining the Private Bank (formerly U.S. Trust) in 2017, Nicole was an Associate in the Executive Office of Goldman Sachs. A National Merit Scholar, she earned her bachelor’s degree in Government with a secondary in Visual and Environmental Studies from Harvard University where she helped lead the Radcliffe Rugby team to a national championship win her senior year. She attended Boston College Law School as a Dean’s Merit Scholar, Clough Academic Law Fellow, Clough Public Interest Scholar, and Equal Justice Works Americorps Legal Fellow and graduated with her JD as a Public Interest Fellow, designated for the volume of pro bono legal work she performed.

Nicole is a managing member of Gaingels, a venture capital organization that invests in companies resolved to building diverse and inclusive teams. A committed philanthropist, she endowed the Michael Poteat Global Education Scholarship at Elon University and serves on the executive board of the Ackerman Institute for the Family.
