Jonathan Justice has nearly two decades of experience in working with wealthy clients, their families and charitable causes.  He advises clients on their investment, credit, fiduciary and financial planning strategies. Jonathan and the team focus on the needs of business owners and entrepreneurs, real estate investors, art collectors, corporate executives and institutional philanthropies.

Before joining U.S. Trust, Jonathan held similar positions with Wells Fargo Private Bank and Bernstein Global Wealth Management. He also worked for Sotheby’s Trusts, Estates and Appraisals Division in New York, where he played a key role in appraisals and collection sales, including those of Bill Blass, June Carter and Johnny Cash and Richard Avedon. Jonathan is well versed on the appraisal, disposition and transfer of tangible assets and provides clients with guidance on managing art and collectibles as assets.

Jonathan combines an analytical and personal approach when working with clients to help create their personalized wealth plan. He seeks to understand their values and to strike a balance between their financial concerns, personal aspirations and hopes for subsequent generations. Jonathan and the team leverage their specialized experience and U.S. Trust’s vast resources to help clients pursue investment and legacy planning goals.

Jonathan is a member of the Estate Planning Councils of New York City and Greater New Jersey, is a Board member of the Bergen County Council and serves on the Advisory Board of Liberty Hall History Center at Kean University. He also serves on the Board of the Millburn-Short Hills Lacrosse Club and coaches township football and lacrosse teams.

Jonathan attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a Morehead Scholar; he received an AB in English with Honors in Creative Writing and a Minor in Art History.  He is an avid trail runner, cyclist and skier and lives with his family in Short Hills, New Jersey.
