John E. Miller is a Senior Vice President and Private Client Advisor in the Newport Beach office of U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management.  John serves a select group of high net worth clients who require sophisticated analysis, tailored strategy, and a high quality of care. Working in concert with a team of U.S. Trust® specialists, John provides clients with the structure and rigor to pursue multi-faceted goals within a unified framework. John's client relationships with his U.S. Trust team continue to evolve over time as the family's needs and priorities change. Which responsibilities the families delegate to U.S. Trust - when and how - is determined by their family circumstances.

John begins his engagements by gaining a thorough understanding of a client’s concerns, objectives, and family priorities. He then works to connect the people, processes, services, and opportunities that clients need, harnessing the extensive capabilities of U.S. Trust. As the leader of a client’s U.S. Trust® team, he facilitates sound decision making in multiple areas, including wealth structuring, trust and estate planning services, investment management, philanthropy, and credit and lending through Bank of America, N.A.

John draws on more than 29 years of experience with Bank of America and associated firms. Prior to joining U.S. Trust in 2014, John was an Associate Director with Merrill Lynch, overseeing the West Los Angeles Market. In this role, he helped lead the Wealth Investment Management business and operations across seven offices and 182 Financial Advisors. Previously, John was the Business Banking Market Executive at Bank of America, managing operations in the Orange County/Long Beach Market.  In that capacity, John's team work with businesses that generated revenues between $5MM - $100MM.

A native of Southern California, John is active in a number of philanthropic organizations in the region. He is a former member of the California State University, Fullerton, Board of Governors.
