Ellen Shain is a Managing Director and Private Client Advisor with U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management. Ellen leads a team of professionals who advise high net worth individuals and their families in all aspects of their wealth management needs, from offering customized investment management strategies to credit structuring and sophisticated estate planning services.  She focuses on client’s charitable interests through their private family foundations.  In addition, Ellen works closely with U.S. Trust's Philanthropic Services Division which provides assistance to nonprofit tax exempt organizations.

In the financial services industry for 30 years, Ellen started her career at The First National Bank of Boston in the Loan Officer Development Program and then grew her career through several private bank roles in legacy Bank of America organizations. She held team leader positions in the credit organization for 10 years and then expanded her experience and responsibilities over the last 20 years in the investment, banking and fiduciary aspects of the business.

Ellen graduated as a government and economics major from Colby College.  Ellen holds the CFP® certification awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc.

Ellen’s outside interests include 18 years in past roles as a member of the Board of Trustees for two independent schools; Pingree School in Hamilton, Massachusetts and Brookwood School in Manchester, Massachusetts. She was also an active board member of Boston Children’s Theatre, an organization that promotes opportunities for youth in the performing arts.   Most recently, she serves on the Board of Wellspring House, a Cape Ann, Massachusetts based organization dedicated to shelter, education and job training as a means to help families move out of poverty. Ellen is also a partial member of the MA Chapter Conversation: FPA Connect.
