Douglas M. Holthaus is a Senior Vice President and Private Client Advisor with U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management in Baltimore. Doug works with business owners, entrepreneurs, senior executives and affluent families to help them deploy and pass on their wealth more effectively. Doug tailors his approach to the clients he serves; he works with a select group of highly successful people, helping them streamline their financial lives and prioritize the family, business and philanthropic concerns they deem most important.

Doug leads a team of U.S. Trust® specialists who cater to the unique needs of each client. He leverages the extensive capabilities of U.S. Trust, channeling resources across multiple disciplines: investment management, concentrated stock management, pre- and post- liquidity event strategy, trust and estate planning services, and philanthropy. Doug is skilled in coordinating cohesive strategies with a client’s tax and legal advisors, as appropriate, spearheading sound communication and long-range planning.

Doug has extensive experience working with both private clients and institutions. Prior to joining U.S. Trust in 2014, he was a Senior Relationship Manager with PNC Wealth Management, where he worked for six years as an advisor to affluent clients. Previously, Doug was a Vice President of Mercantile Capital Advisors, a predecessor firm of PNC, where he spent nearly five years as a Vice President of Alternative Investments and Mutual Funds. Doug’s experience also includes tenures with Deutsche Asset Management, where he was a Relationship Manager to institutional clients; Friedman, Billings, & Ramsey Group, where he designed employee stock plans and executive services; and Legg Mason, where he began his career in 1996 in Client Account Services.

Doug holds a B.A. in Political Science from Salisbury University.
