A Vice President and Private Client Associate with U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management, Banu Asik Elizondo has over fifteen years of experience financial securities business. In her role, Banu takes a holistic approach of the client’s needs and provides them with access to the vast resources of U.S. Trust in order to help plan and execute a customized strategy. Banu seeks to provide a boutique service standard tailoring plans to help meet clients' immediate needs as well as helping them build their legacy for future generations.

Prior to joining U.S. Trust, Bank of America in October of 2017, Banu was a Senior Portfolio Manager responsible for emerging markets sovereign debt portfolios at Invesco Advisers and ING Investment Management US (now called VOYA Financial). She also served as a mutual fund manager in respective asset classes for both firms, and was often quoted as a thought leader in several financial publications such as the Wall Street Journal, Barron’s and Bloomberg. Prior to assuming responsibilities as a Portfolio Manager in 2011, Banu was a Senior Credit Analyst covering infrastructure investments for ING Investment Management US’ high yield/ distressed debt group. Banu started her career as a sell-side credit analyst at Wachovia Securities (now called Wells Fargo Securities) covering telecom, cable and media sectors for high yield and investment grade fixed income teams.

Banu holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Duke University and is fluent in Turkish, French and English and proficient in Italian.

Banu serves as the Vice President of the Board of Directors at Callanwolde Fine Arts center in Atlanta, whose mission is to preserve the historic Candler Estate and offer fine arts and outreach to the community. She continues to be an active member of the Duke community conducting alumni interviews, serving as a judge in Duke Startup Challenge, and as a member of the Young Alumni Development Council. Along with her eight-year-old daughter Scarlett and her husband Paul, Banu is a passionate supporter of pediatric and adult cancer research through their involvement with Ian’s Friends Foundation, Duke Cancer Research Center, and American Cancer Society. Banu also loves to volunteer at Pace Academy, where her daughter Scarlett attends school.
