Anna Miao

Senior Vice President, Private Client Advisor

Professional Profile

Anna Miao is a Senior Vice President and Private Client Advisor at Bank of America Private Bank in Boston, Massachusetts.

Anna works closely with Asian-American clients and others whose ambition and diligence have brought them wealth and complex financial challenges. Most are entrepreneurs who run their business or have sold and moved on to their next venture. Anna also serves retired corporate executives and generations of wealthy families.

Fluent in Mandarin, Anna speaks the language of many clients and is skilled at understanding their cultures – from attitude toward investing, to family dynamics, to connecting easily with their adult children. For Anna, establishing trust with clients is critical. Often, she feels like an extended family member serving multiple generations and being invited to clients’ major life events.

To address the distinct needs of each client, Anna assembles a team of specialists on a case-by-case basis. Working collaboratively – and with clients’ CPAs and attorneys, when helpful – Anna and her team craft integrated financial and estate planning strategies that may include cash management, investments, strategic lending, philanthropic advisory services and estate planning.

Anna was born in China and began her Bank of America career at Boston’s Chinatown branch. Anna holds an MBA from Pittsburgh State University and has studied and worked in China, South Korea, and Switzerland. She is a member of Massachusetts Financial Planning Association and the National Association of Asian American Professionals.

Active in the Greater Boston community, Anna has taught for Women’s Financial Empowerment Program at Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center since 2015. She also participates in events sponsored by Bank of America that celebrate The Chinese New Year. A former competitive ballroom dancer, Anna has completed the Chicago Marathon and half marathons. She and her husband reside in the Boston area.
