Glen Macdonald is a Senior Vice President and Private Client Advisor in the Florham Park, NJ office of U.S. Trust. He services high net worth individuals, family foundations and nonprofit institutions
Glen has over two decades of experience at the intersection of finance, business, social investments and philanthropy. He was previously a Partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting, where he led complex assignments for leading technology companies on business strategy, mergers, restructurings and financial management. He was also previously a Merrill Lynch financial advisor. Glen co-founded in 2004 and serves as chairman of the Wealth & Giving Forum, a national organization that promotes values-based approaches to family wealth through highly innovative educational experiences.
Glen is a frequent speaker at conferences on philanthropy and the responsible deployment of capital. He has presented his perspective on these topics at Vaclav Havel’s Forum 2000 Conference in Prague, Forbes Family Business Conferences, NYU, Wharton, The CFA Society, the Social Impact Exchange Conference, the Impact Capitalism Summit and the Family Wealth Alliance.
Glen’s understanding of capital markets, investments and impactful philanthropy is rooted in his academic training. He received his B.A. with highest honors in political science and economics and his M.A. in international politics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He was awarded a Ford Foundation Fellowship at the Harvard Center for International Affairs, a Fulbright Scholarship in Mexico and a Chateaubriand Fellowship to conduct research on European economic integration.
Glen has been a supporter of innovative social enterprises that improve the lives of at-risk populations. He is currently a member of the Strategic Advisory Board of Rising Tide Capital in Jersey City, NJ and a Board member of Borough of Manhattan Community College Foundation.
